No Alcohol Days

Referencing the State Orders, the following days are nominated as DRY DAYS or NON ALCOHOL DAYS. Please don't ask us why. :-S. Nevertheless, it means that no restaurant or bar or shops are allowed to serve alcohol. You too, are NOT allowed to drink it, even if at home. So beware, when driving under the influence*, even if its half a drink, as the cops are all out checking with breathalysers.
  • January 26, Republic Day.
  • August 15, Independence Day
  • July 14, 2008, Ekadashi, Religious Occasion
  • September 3, 2008 - Ganesh Chaturthi - Religious Festival

Besides the above nominated days, the government can choose to declare more days, such as election/poll days as 'dry days'. News of such, is advertised in the newspapers.
